Recognizing the right caller in a plumbing phone demo

The decision to make first

A website visitor may prepare a business profile and then call the demo line from a number that is not safely linked to that profile. Use an explicit verified binding or a short-lived demo code, and fall back to a generic fictional scenario when the profile cannot be identified reliably.

What the handoff should contain

Keep the demo session identifier, approved profile, expiry, verification state and the incoming number or code used to select that session.

Suggested wording to approve

Example wording: “To use your prepared business example, follow the verified phone or demo-code instructions. Without that match, Ava will use a generic demonstration.”

Test the difficult case

Test two sessions using the same office number, an unverified caller and a call made after the profile expires. Do not expose another visitor’s profile because caller ID was spoofed, shared by an office or matched to an expired session.

Worked example

Fictional example: Two colleagues prepare different business examples using a shared office number. An incoming call should not receive whichever profile was saved last. The verified-session or code flow must select the intended context, and an uncertain match should use the generic demonstration without announcing details of the other colleague’s profile.
