Several plumbing tasks in one visit request

A customer may add several small jobs near the end of a call, changing the scope that an initially suitable appointment could cover.

01

The decision to make first

A customer may add several small jobs near the end of a call, changing the scope that an initially suitable appointment could cover. Capture additional tasks as separate requested items and have the schedule owner decide whether the approved slot still fits.

02

What the handoff should contain

Record the main request, each added task, the customer’s priority order and whether the total scope needs review before confirmation.

03

Suggested wording to approve

Example wording: “I can include those additional items in the request. The office will confirm which tasks can be covered and whether the appointment needs a different length.”

04

Test the difficult case

Test a single fixture request that expands to three rooms and a caller who says the extra work is “only a minute.” Do not imply that every added task is included in the original price or time window merely because it was mentioned before the call ended.

05

Worked example

Fictional example: A caller starts with one tap replacement and later adds a toilet and an outdoor fixture. The final record lists all three requested items and flags the original slot for scope review. The assistant should not assure the customer that the extra work fits the original price or appointment length.

06

Review it in operation

Review how often booked scope changes on arrival and improve the final question about additional requested work.
